In Loving
Memory of My "Kids"
They are my life in more ways than
one. They've given to me so much more than anyone could imagine.
They gave me my career. They have
been always honest and eager to please. They were my kids first
and foremost and I'll never be the same without them near.
I love each and every one of them in very different
ways, and what one did to make me laugh, the other would do to make
me cry -- each
so different. I'm blessed to have had them in my life. If I could
change one thing in my life, it would be that we'd had more time!
Miss my kids, love my kids, never will forget
my kids.
Bullit (Boxer)
THE HARDEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!
Well, what a story… Everyone has a soul-mate
and Bullit was mine! She was my sun and stars and gave me the strength
to get up each day. It never seemed to matter what happened, she
was with me through it all. When I was injured or sick, she never
left my side. When I couldn’t get up, she stood to support
me. She would retrieve my med’s, open doors, the fridge,
get my things, and take care of me. And she never once complained
or asked for anything other then a hug and a kiss.
Bullit raised
all my dogs and litters, even though she never gave birth to her
own puppies. Bullit lived true to her name protecting us all from
any wrong doings. Bullit taught me so much, and we never failed as
a team or her individually. She trialed in obedience, flyball, and
agility, trained in sar, French ring sport, and schutzhund. She
did live performances, movies and commercials as well as still photography.
There was nothing this girl wouldn’t
do and loved to work and learn until the day she left me.
When
Bullit first got cancer in 2005, in her hind leg, everyone was
devastated. What to do when she is almost 17 years of age? No option
in my mind but to remove the limb. After talking to my vet, who I
trust with all my kids, it
was clear to me that this was the only thing
to do.
Within one hour after surgery, Bullit
was standing and ready to work!! So we did exactly what she wanted… out
of pain and running on three legs, she was unstoppable and happy.
Able to go up and down stairs, jump into bed, onto the couch, and
work better then any four-legged dog I know.
We were blessed with
more time together, until June 22, 2006. There’s not
a day goes by that I don’t think of her -- after all, we built
this business together. We lasted longer than most marriages or relationships;
she was my partner, and the business is named after her. Everything
I have, she helped me build, and on June 22nd part of my soul died.
I will never be the same without her at my side.
For You Bullit
Everyday the sun goes down,
But it’s different now you’re not around.
You touched so many lives in such a special way,
You made everything always’ seem okay.
I never had to fear, for you were always near,
Protecting us all, you were so dear.
I remember all the nights, whether work or pleasure,
The moon was our light, the stars shone upon you during the day as
well as night.
My life will never be the same without you here,
But close in my heart I have you near.
I miss my BEST FRIEND
Greyson (German Shepherd)
I lost Greyson, my "old man", in October,
2006. He leaves behind beautiful prodigy and his mate for life. Grey
was a magnificent G.S.D. weighing in at about 140 lb., and
a neck size of 26 inches. Greyson was a big beautiful soul with the
strength and power to do anything if he had to. Grey performed
in movies and television, and also live shows. He was a big goof
when it came to the garden hose and took advantage of all new staff
by ripping the hose out of their hands and squirting not only himself
but whoever was supposed to be filling his pools or dishes. He broke
in all my staff, so we always had an extra hose just in case…….and
that was often!! Greyson was always the gentleman while his mom
(me) was there, and then became the "hose terror" as soon
as I walked out the door…. Funny
to me, but drove the staff nuts….it was
like our inside joke…. What? My boy is
doing what??? (so innocent)
NO!!!! NOT GREY!!! It was, and still is a joke for life….
You are greatly missed by all; never needy, always
happy, not a day of trouble but many of laughter…. thank you.
(I’ll miss the accusations!)
Bailey (English Bulldog)
Oh my, what a card. He was so mouthy it wasn't funny. Always talking
and never listening! He gave me two beautiful offspring, boys
that are stunning. On the portfolio, you'll see Otis, one of his
sons,
a fawn male who is as smart as his daddy -- and that's pretty
smart. He inherited his dad's mouth, too, and will talk up a storm.
Bailey's
favorite toy was an 18-litre water bottle. He used to chase it
around and, boy, don't try to take it away without asking nice
because he would talk you down in a heartbeat! It still makes
us laugh thinking about it. He was a love with a big mouth and that
was his special little trait.
We miss you Bailey-Boo. I'll always be remembering you.
Lucky
What to say about a dog I got from the US
that was a scared, agressive animal, that with lots of TLC became
the most amazing gentle
giant, the sweetest soul, a movie star. You just can't imagine the
180
on this dog. Oh my gosh, I wish the world knew him. He was the
greatest, gentlest, most honest dog -- you couldn't get a better
success story. People may know him or recognize him on screen
and if you looked into those eyes, you'd see something special. He
just had a way with everyone. Once you met him, you never forgot
him, nor will I, my gentle giant. Your heart was so big and your
eyes spoke so deeply, I'll never feel like that again! Remembering
always.
Tohope (Boxer)
This is really hard to write because she
was my first "show
dog" in dog shows, as dog people know! Tohope was my conformation
dog, obedience dog and movie star. On top of all that, she was
my second boxer, my first black-face brindle. She whelped me a
beautiful
litter of pups, from which I kept her son Brin, who is my stud
dog (see him in the portfolio) and who performs in film also. Tohope
used to do the wiggle cry when I came home. In the morning she
would
stick her head in the shower and give you a good morning wiggle
and cry because lord knows you couldn't get her out of bed until
it was
really time to get up. She was a VERY gentle soul and helped raise
litters that weren't hers (she only had one litter, by my choice).
She was a magnificent animal in so many ways. She will be missed
by many and always remembered for so many great things. She touched
and changed my life and for that I could never thank her enough,
but she'll always be with me. "
Tohope upon a star." Love you lots!
Blackie (Newfoundland)
Well… amazing, simply perfect! She is the first B in BRB,
my very own first dog, a rescue. I got her at around 6 months and
for
the next 18 years, she brought me nothing but pleasure. She was
not only in film, but obedience and agility, and a not so fast flyball
dog. This dog was remarkable with kids, the elderly, noise, you
name
it, she was great! There's not much to say about a perfect dog
that, even though she was spayed, raised every dog that came into
the house.
Everyone knew Blackie was the guardian and the "mother" to
all. She'd raise anything -- dogs, cats, rabbits, birds -- bring
them to Blackie, she'll raise them! I don't know how big my heart
is, but she took a few extra pieces when she left me. Nickname:
Black-a-doodle. Instead of Dr. Doolittle, she was our Black-a-Doodle.
The perfect dog!
Rawlly (German Shepherd)
Awesome boy he was -- he would jump six-foot
fences just to follow me. An intact male around all sizes and shapes
of other dogs
and never a boo out of him. Needless to say he is the R in BRB! This
dog was so devoted to me and had the greatest temperament of
any
intact male I've ever met. He again was a rescue at age 2 and
trained in obedience/CKC -- was the highest scoring GS dog in
trial
on his first show. He also did agility, flyball (and was great)
and still photography and movies. This was a remarkable dog in
so many ways. I remember bringing him home the first day at age
2. He'd never seen stairs or ceramic floors and I thought for
a split-second -- oh, oh. And from that second on he put his trust
into me and our relationship blossomed more beautiful than any
flower. I'm so sorry I never bred him, for he was one in a million
of German Shepherd dogs! We trained a mouse to run up his tail,
across his back and sit in the middle of his head in between
his
two ears and that dog never flinched. I could do anything or
go anywhere with him. We did live shows with hundreds of people and
he'd just be Rawlly, the awesome boy! My heart's with
you.
Harry (Beagle)
Well, well, Harry was a funny old man. He
was abandoned when he was 8 or 9. He was very sick, had little
or no hair and cherry eyes
to boot! Now, who is going to take a beagle, of all dogs, that's
this sick and old? Of course, I will! Well, we started some serious
rehab and after almost 8 months, he looked like a beagle again,
but boy did he require manners! So when he was healthy enough,
we started to train and all of a sudden, the old man was turning
into a guinness. He was fun, ended up working in film and being
the only beagle I knew that would lay out in front and greet
people
rather than chase the birds, cats, deer -- nope, nothing. Just
waited for clients to come and greet him. Oh Harry, you were
the wise old man. I had him for another 10 years, he passed at 18
years. TLC misses Harry.
Dotti (Boxer)
A beautiful gentle soul who graced me with her presence. A very
honest girl who worked in film from the age of 10 weeks old until
last year. Dotti passed away at the age of 13 at home in late
August of 2006. Dotti was the first import dog I had and was a
stunning one that. Any boxer can make you laugh aloud daily, but
there was something special about Dotti that could make you smile
from ear to ear all of the time. I will miss my "Calm Water Girl".
Uta (Boxer)
Uta passed away in her home with me by her side in September 2006. She was 13 years old. A spirit like none you've ever seen. She had many reasons to give up young in life before she came to share her life with me. From the day Uta was born to the day she left me she was a fighter and a hard worker who had a quiet and gentle soul. She never complained though nor did she ever give up. Her eyes stayed bright even in her darkest moments; she gave her heart without judgement. She will be greatly misssed by everyone.
In 2007:
Brandy (German Shepherd)
Brandy has left to join Greyson again, and as long as I can feel this
in my heart it makes it a bit easier. She was a beautiful girl and went
thru allot when her mate passed away, she produced some of the greatest
GSD that I have ever worked and leaves behind her prodigy to carry out
her memory. Brandy and Greyson always starred together in film, and shone
like no other, If you believe in dogs understanding love, you would see
it daily when they were together and inseparable. Her eyes were for Greyson
only and even I had a hard time competing with that. NOW....If I were
a tennis ball look out! She loved her balls and would take them right
out of Greysons mouth, I'm sure he didn't mind. The best trick was telling
someone to put a tennis ball in their back pocket before going to see
her...then of course she wouldn't get so excited...Yeah right, she always
knew and would give them a little nip in the bottom let them know she
wasn't that dumb!!!!! But people on the other hand, well a little slower
to catch on that this was a little game we liked to play. hahaha I will
miss those days!
Hope you are together again, I miss you guys, but you still make
me laugh a lot....
and
cry too...
Burke (German Shepherd)
What
a great majestic fellow. He came to me as an adult with some issues
and surpassed all the goals I set for him without hesitation. From
live shows to Film and Photography he was a statue of perfection! He blossomed
into a beautiful strong independent dog and spread his joy for life
with everyone he met. A soft gentleman lay beneath that outer shell and
would melt the best of us with those beautiful dark eyes. He never doubted
anything I asked and would always try his very best to please, there wasn't
a day that I could ever remember him not giving his all. He was a talented
man with a heart of gold.I lost this love too while away filming,
it was the hardest show to get thru!
I will miss the Bear Foot hellos
Missing a Beautiful soul...
Kelly (German Shepherd/Collie mix)
What to say about the smartest dog in the world!! No kidding, he would fold the laundry better then most people I know, rescue people from burning buildings (never worrying for his own safety), He could and would do ANYTHING!! I thank him for showing me just how intelligent k-9s really are. If a dog could walk on water he and I would have figured it out! He would go get the key to the truck and jump in the window and hold the keys in his mouth! If I forgot the keys he would go take them out of the ignition for me. He would climb up and down the ladder and get me what ever I needed....a hammer, no problem and up the ladder he'd come...he was truly amazing and I'm sure was given to me for we could teach each other....for he was suppose to be on a cloud as a very young pup!! I thank Kelly for the learning experiences that we shared and the tears and sweat that went with it. For there will never be another to replace any,but I don't know if there could ever be another close to his talent and skills. He had capabilities like nothing I've ever seen before. Kelly you will never be forgotten for as long as there is laundry you will never be far from the heart!
I miss your intellect boy.
You can see Kelly in Movies and Television shows!
Mystry (Boxer)
She was just that! A brilliant boxer, so quick to please and moved at top speed for anything you asked of her. My gosh she could open the fridge, get a bottle of water, close the fridge, bring it to you and be ready to go again in about 15sec flat!(Taking her time!!) Mystry did Movies, Television, Still photography, Agility, Obedience, and Conformation!! She was a well rounded beautiful, smart athlete. I was away filming when I lost her and I dedicate the film Finn on the Fly to her. She should have been with me, but she was 12 years old and having a hard time with her legs, so I opted to leave her behind and it was a mistake of a lifetime for I could not be with her in her final moment. Mystry, you always had the light of stars in your eye's...never an unhappy day, never a mean bone I say, always happy to be on your way, as long as we were together, you were always willing to stay. The house is far quieter and the funny fury is blown away, but everytime I reach in the fridge a light comes on reminding me of how much you lit up my life. I thank you for every moment you gave me, and I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you because you were always there for me!
I miss you so much, I love my Mystry Girl!
Rosi (English Bulldog)
This is so hard for me, I can't stop crying everytime I hear your name, Your life was far too short and I'm sorry I wasn't home for you in your time of need. I put my trust in the Dr's for they should know what is best! I live with that decision everyday of my life and I'm so sorry for that, you nor the world will ever understand. I was away filming when this turned to such a mess! I was told you were fine and not to come home, then 2weeks later when I arrived after my show you looked at me once and I picked you up and rushed to the Dr. where you passed in my arms! You waited for me to return and hung on with all your might for the fight you gave was truly a fight for life. I will live with this for the rest of my life not really knowing has made it a fight.
Rosi, you talked all the time and always had something to say, for your bursts of energy were like lightning they came as fast as they went. You were the funniest of all and a howl to work for sometimes a speed demon and others well....a snail would move faster! You made me laugh everyday, no exceptions there, for it was always your way! The house is not the same, your chair sits empty most days, but you'd be happy to know your granddaughter has taken a liking to it, Hootchie reminds me so much of you, its like a dream when I hear her talking I sometimes look over to make sure it's not you! Thank you for the joy you brought me, a lifetime of wonderful memories from the girl that should still be rocking in her chair!
I miss you so much Rosi! xoxo
