Current Training Classes 2010 - 2011

ALL CLASSES ARE AT THE BRONTE ROAD LOCATION -- 3521 Bronte Rd. (Hwy 25), Oakville -- which is located at the north-east corner of the Hwy 407 & Bronte Rd.

Each class series consists of six weekly sessions of 1 hr. 15 min. at our Bronte Road location. As of July 1, 2010, all regular class series are $240 including tax.

KPT (Kindergarten Puppy Training)
(no pre-requisite)

Puppy classes give both you and your puppy the very best start. Any dog up to six months old can take this level.

The first part of each class features a lecture on frequently asked questions and common problems that new puppy owners have. Topics range from housebreaking and chewing to grooming and nutrition. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to get your questions answered.

Through the activities in this class, we give special attention to the socialization of your puppy, bite inhibition and building confidence through agility exercises.

The basic commands are introduced in this beginner course: sit, down, stay, heel, and come (the recall).

Novice Class – Level 1 Obedience
(no pre-requisite)

If you have done Puppy Class, the Novice Class is a natural next step, but there is no training prerequisite. Any dog at least six months old is welcome to take this level.

In this class we focus on the respect commands: sit, down, stay, heel, and come (the recall). We have      "question and answer" before and after each class to ensure we cover all your questions and needs. 

Graduate Novice – Level 2 Advanced Obedience
(requires Level 1 Obedience)

The Graduate Novice class is for those dogs and handlers who wish to take obedience training to the next level. A certain amount of dedication and work is required for success with Graduate Novice. To participate in this class, you and your dog must have successfully completed the Novice level.

This class introduces off-leash, so control is the focus. Hand signals and voice commands are reviewed, with greater importance placed on distance control. Emergency drops and out of sight obedience are key exercises for the Graduate Novice participant.

Advanced Graduate Novice and Guarding
(requires Level 1 Obedience)

This class is taught off-leash, with distractions and field trips to local malls. While on our premises the class is entirely off-leash with hand, verbal, or combination exercises.

Agility

Advanced Agility
(requires Agility)

Learn to do agility for fun or competiion! You will be able to run a full course & complete all equipment with your dog!  It's fun, exciting & fast! Teach your dog all the necessary skills to compete or just have a ton of fun. Great for their confidence and a good way for all to get exercise. All ages welcome. All breeds welcome.

Fun and Trick
(no pre-requisite)

Whistle Recall
(no pre-requisite)

This course is designed to give you complete "COME" control. Whether you are in a leash free, at the cottage, in the lake, or on a hike........your dog will come every time! If you just have trouble getting the dog out of the backyard and into the house.....your troubles are over!! There is no age limit, no dog too young and no dog too old! This is a fun class and all will get exercise. I expect all dogs to complete a 1 km recall, blinded from owners!

Advanced Whistle Recall / Search and Rescue
(requires Search and Rescue)

Drill Team
(no pre-requisite)

This class is composed of agility, obedience, whistle recall, tricks and so much more. This is a fun class where we work as a group and have our dogs working with other dogs and owners. If you are looking for something unique to do with your dog, this is it. We use smoke machines, sound machines, have dogs jumping over each other, running under a line of dogs, formation group work, climbing ladders, and so much more....Fun and exciting!

Movie Dog Training (NEW)
(no pre-requisite)

This course will introduce the dogs to the ticks of the trade. Working with fire, climbing ladders and fog machines. Learning 'a take it", "a speak it", "a hide your eyes"; and so much more. Agility is incorporated into this class. This is a great class to build confidence in your dog and great fun.
